Athlone Community Taskforce (ACT), the Dept. of Social Protection and Westmeath Community Development Ltd (WCDL), in conjunction with Athlone Credit Union, wish to announce the availability of a Loan Fund Facility for those who are on the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance (BTWEA) and are in need of business start up finance. Details of the scheme together with terms and conditions are available from the Enterprise Office of Westmeath Community Development, Business Development Centre, Ballalley Lane, Parnell Square, Athlone or by contacting the above number 090-649-4555.
Applications (max €3000) will be reviewed by a panel from ACT, WCD and the Dept of Social Protection. Loan applications in excess of €3000 up to a maximum of €5000 will be reviewed by the Executive Committee of ACT, if recommended by the review panel. Successful applicants will be notified in writing. The Credit Union will be authorised to arrange the loan. The Loan Fund Facility will be administered by Athlone Credit Union and successful applicants must become a member of the Credit Union, if not already one, to access the loan. The Loan will be also subject to the Credit Union terms and conditions.
