Social Inclusion Programme  2001 – 2006

ACT’s strategy in implementing the LDSIP will be carried under three SIP measures.

Measure 1: Service to the unemployed

  • To improve the potential of long-term unemployed and socially excluded communities to gain employment in the economy.
  • To provide a range of support measures for the creation & development of local enterprise and employment.
  • To create specific training, education, employment and work experience oppertunities.

Measure 2: Community Development

  • To enhance the capacity of local communities particularly areas of economic marginalisation & depopulation to patiicipate fully in local development to counter social exclusion.
  • To improve the physical environment.

Measure 3: Youth Based Initiative

  • To provide additional supports to facilitate participation in education, including primary level & for those at risk of early school leaving
